INTERIOR _ incarico (rilievo – progettazione esecutiva – DDLL)
Una piccola chiesa nei pressi di Conegliano presentava l’aula muta in quanto le 4 cappelle laterali erano tamponate. Grazie al lascito di un parrocchiano è stato possibile riaprire le due cappelle più prossime al presbiterio e, in tal modo, valorizzare due sculture lignee di Arte Povera del Novecento.

Anziché il classico “altare a muro”, ho proposto due pareti curve che fungessero da schiena alle cappelle creando un abbraccio nel raccoglimento. La scultura di Sant’Antonio è stata posta su un ceppo troncoconico posizionato asimmetricamente rispetto alle ali curve; essa risulta ora visibile anche dall’ingresso della chiesa; ho voluto consentire un dialogo – sacro – tra un uomo e un altro uomo, ma anche tra umano e divino. La scultura della Madonna, invece, è stata collocata su una mensola a sbalzo e in posizione elevata rispetto al fedele; nella sua ascensionalità vuole esprimere quell’assenza di gravità che accomuna e accompagna i credenti nella contemplazione.

INTERIOR _ assignment (relief – executive planning – DDLL)
The Hall of a small church near Conegliano appeared void as the four side chapels had been closed off. Thanks to the legacy of a parishioner it was possible to reopen the two chapels nearest to the presbytery, thereby enhancing the value of two XX Century “Arte Povera” wooden sculptures representing St. Anthony and the Madonna.In place of the classical “wall-altar”, I proposed two curved walls acting as backbone of the chapels, thereby creating the embracing movement in recollection. The sculpture of St. Anthony was placed on a truncated cone stump asymmetric to the curved wings. It is now visible from the main entrance. I wanted to allow for a dialogue – a sacred one – between one human being and another; but also between the human and the divine. On the other hand, the sculpture of the Madonna, was placed on a cantilever beam and in an elevated position with respect to the believer. This ascensional movement wants to convey a sense of absence of gravity that unites and leads believers in contemplation.
